Sustainability and Social Responsibility
Abyss Group AS has a vision to be the leader in maritime operations that contribute to a profitable and sustainable aquaculture industry.
Our goal is to reduce our CO2 emissions and other negative environmental impacts by 50% by 2030. To achieve this, we must make sustainable choices in all our procurement processes, reduce travel activity, and further develop our systems to limit and manage waste. In addition, we must strive to use an increasingly larger share of renewable energy for all our locations and transport means.
Transparency and Accountability
We must be open and transparent in all our decisions and activities that impact society and the environment. We are responsible for everything we do.
We will always comply with applicable laws and regulations, and we shall respect, assess, and respond to the interests of our stakeholders. We will act ethically and actively promote ethical behaviour based on honesty, equality, and integrity.
We believe in fair and free trade. We will not engage in any form of bribery or corruption. We shall adhere to fundamental principles of business integrity, no forms of bribery will be accepted, nor will it be offered.
Social Conditions
We are committed to taking social responsibility and respecting internationally recognised human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as labour rights laws. We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to do the same.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form. Our employees have the right to organise, join associations, and negotiate with the company. We do not allow forced or child labour.
We continuously work to improve the work environment at our workplaces. Our work environment shall be characterised by diversity, respect, and care, and all employees are given the opportunity for professional development and skill enhancement. We will actively promote a safe and health-promoting work environment.
Environment and Climate
Our operations should have the least possible negative impact on the external environment. The business shall be based on the UN's precautionary principle for environmental protection and shall implement environmental management systems for our units and locations, measure, and work to reduce our own environmental emissions.
Raw materials, energy, and other resources must be used efficiently and with respect for the environment. Environmental considerations shall permeate the entire value chain and form an integral part of our procurement process. We will verify the origin of the goods we purchase and only buy these goods from controlled sources.
